Preston Douglas is an American artist primarily working with fashion design, painting, performance art, and digital media.
Preston's fashion collections focus on the underlying emotional distress during periods of his life. These bodies of work take a minimum of 6 months to realize, develop, and produce. Therefore, Preston has turned to making paintings, drawings, sculptures, and digital works to satiate his creative drive during a collection's production, or to address specific moments in his life that do not lead to a full collection at the time.
Each medium consciously and unconsciously bleeds into the other as Preston continues to challenge preconceived academic and market-based notions of what is beauty, what is art, and what it means to be an artist operating in the local, global, and digital landscape during the 21st century.
